Now that we’ve completed our first “practice” month of the year, the reality of 2025 is truly upon us.
Over the past couple of weeks, you may have found yourself staring blankly at an inbox full of 5,000 new emails, waking tired children 2-hours earlier than they are used to, trying to remember where you left their lunch boxes over the holidays ("Is that a...banana?!), and rediscovering how it is possible to make an edible dinner in under 20 minutes when everyone arrives home tired and hungry after a busy day.
Wishing for a new way
As you come to terms with the routines and machinations of your family’s daily “normal” for 2025, you may be noticing that many of your beautiful New Year’s hopes, dreams and resolutions that seemed so plausible a month ago are starting to feel a little…strained.
Perhaps you had resolved that 2025 would be the year that you would finally stop shouting at everyone and become a less grumpy parent (a longing for inner peace and presence?). Or maybe you resolved that this would be the year your children would stop fighting with each other and become best friends (a wish for family harmony?), or start getting themselves ready for school on time (cooperation?), or start washing the dishes (support?), or stop playing so many computer games (balance?)...
During the bliss of a summer holiday, these aspirations may have seemed very reasonable, perhaps even attainable. The magical combination of time, space, rest, nature, and togetherness can work wonders for restoring family harmony and inner peace.
But once the hectic pace of “real” life creeps back in, Daily Family Life 2025 can start to look a lot like November 2024 all over again. All of a sudden, the shouting, lateness and screen flood back in; peace, presence and cooperation may seem painfully beyond reach.
Reclaiming your dreams for a more peaceful 2025
In our first newsletter of the year, we want to share some new beginnings we've introduced at Peace Talks in 2025 - along with some offerings that we hope could support you in reconnecting with your dreams for the year. These are some ways we would love to be able to support you to find a little more peace, joy and ease in your family life. |
